Kia ora – we're Kelly & Ash, life partners and co-founders of WEST Roastery.

Born from a shared love of coffee and a leap of faith, WEST is our way of bringing craft and community together here on the West Coast of Aotearoa. Based in Māwhera, Greymouth, we're a small family owned roastery, roasting every bag by hand and to order.

For Kelly, this is a homecoming. Born and bred on the Coast, she's proud to now be head roaster, bringing something back to the community that shaped her. Ash, originally from Glasgow, brings the creative spark. Design, branding, and community engagement.

We roast a kilo at a time, to order, so nothing sits on a shelf and nothing goes to waste. It means more care in every batch, and it means the beans in your bag were roasted with you in mind. Our 250g and 500g bags are already home-compostable, and our 1kg bags will follow once current stock runs out. It’s just one way we're thinking about the generations of Coasters and coffee drinkers still to come.
